Milan
Milan delivers versatility with top mount and poron gasket mount, an internal brass weight, a seamless and branding-free exterior, included hotswap PCB, low 18 mm front height, comfortable 3.7 degree typing angle, and full support for KBD8X MKII plates and PCBs for extended parts availability.
Function Defines Form
A simplistic design compliments the black case to let your keycaps take the center stage. A seamless exterior eliminates color-mismatch and case misalignment, the recessed USB port conceals the metal USB connector on your cable, and all case screws sit near-flush with the bottom surface so they can be accessed even with short screwdriver bits.
All-New Dual Mounting System
An improved implementation of the popular top and o-ring gasket mounting system — Milan supports top mount for its traditional feel and sound, and poron gasket mount for its popular creamy sound signature and softer typing experience.
Top Mount.
The plate is fastened to the top case with screws, delivering a distinct, tactile response while bringing out the sound signatures of different switches.
Gasket Mount.
The plate rests on poron gaskets that compress on each keystroke for a cushioned typing feel and soft, creamy sound signature.
Hotswap PCB.
Milan comes with a custom PCB featuring Kailh hotswap sockets so you can quickly and easily assemble your keyboard in just minutes — no soldering required. Milan also supports the KBD8X MKII PCB for expanded layout support and improved half plate compatibility when soldering.
Aftermarket plate support.
Milan comes included with a custom 1060-aluminum plate with dual mounting support for on-the-fly switching between top mount and gasket mount. Top mount only plates are available separately in POM, FR4, and aluminum — based on the KBD8X MKII plate so you can move your build between the Milan and KBD8X MKII cases, and expands Milan's part compatibility with the wide range of official and aftermarket KBD8X MKII PCBs and plates.
